In July, Mark had the privilege of speaking to 95 junior high teens at Peniel Bible Camp, and he taught them a chorus our church in Antofagasta loves to sing. It uses the words of Romans 11:36, “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” The idea is a simple one: all things exist because God created them, all things continue to exist because God upholds and maintains them, and all things exists for God’s purposes and to bring him glory. The “all things” is the part that blows our minds, simply because of its far-reaching extent. All things…. What a great reminder for every moment of our day!
This past month, we returned to Ohio from New Hampshire and resumed our visits with supporting churches and individuals. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in New England with family. Mark spent a week at teen camp and lost his voice. On the way back to Ohio, we stopped in New York City and met some of Bekah’s Spanish learning partners. We are thankful for God’s hand of care over us as we traveled. Our home base is now Benton Ridge, Ohio, and we are visiting our Ohio churches again this coming month, Lord willing (you can see our furlough schedule on our website). We are thankful that God provided us a wonderful place to stay for the next several weeks. We are thankful for the gracious reception we’ve had at our partner churches, for their eagerness to hear what God is doing in Antofagasta, and for their demonstration of true Christian fellowship.
One of our constant prayer requests over the past four years has been for the finalization of our permanent visas. This past month, we received official notification that our visas have both been granted, and we have appointments to get our new ID cards for the first business day we are back in Chile! Thank you for praying for this request so faithfully for so long. Please continue to pray for our safety in travel, for physical stamina and health, and for opportunities to serve like Jesus. We appreciate your prayers on our behalf.
