As our teammate David Flinck always says, “The Christian life is personal but not private.” In other words, Christian living not only incorporates our faith into our own lives, but necessarily shares it with others. This concept is at the center of our ministry in Antofagasta and here in the States during furlough. Paul told Timothy, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” (2 Tim 2:2). We are thankful for the opportunities we have had to share what we are learning and what God is doing with our partners and supporting churches.

According to Google Timeline, we spent 79 hours driving during the month of June. God gave us safety and good health, he allowed the car to run flawlessly, and he blessed our interactions with churches and partners. This month we have spent with family, enjoying Fourth of July fireworks, picking strawberries, and being in the same place for multiple weeks. Mark will be speaking for a week of teen camp in Ohio before we resume our travels at the end of the month, Lord willing (you can see our furlough schedule on our website).

Our church in Antofagasta continues to meet in the park, and God continues to bring in new families and individuals through the testimony of our members. Not surprisingly, Jesus continues to build his church. Pastor Andrés has been preaching a series on the spread of the gospel in the book of Acts, and these messages have mirrored what God is doing in our own church. In June, Mark taught a three-part online class to about 60 Chilean pastors and elders about biblical eldership.

Please continue to pray for our safety in travel, for physical stamina and health, and for opportunities to serve like Jesus. Please continue to pray for the resolution of our permanent visas. We appreciate your prayers on our behalf.

We have enjoyed sharing what God is doing in Antofagasta with our partners here in the United States.
We appreciate their faithful partnership with us.
We have been enjoying this month doing “normal things” with family this month.
