God reminds Isaiah of his unlimited power. “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength” (Isa 40:28–29). We are thankful that our omniscient God gives power to the faint. We have felt a little bit exhausted this past month, and that reminds us that we depend on God for our daily strength.

We had the opportunity to receive Mark’s sister and her family in our home for ten days, which was great fun and a real blessing. They got to see the desert and also got to know several of our church families here in Antofagasta. We also had the opportunity to travel 300 miles north to Alto Hospicio for a long weekend, ministering in a small church there that doesn’t have a pastor. Mark has been meeting with the elders of this church weekly via Zoom for the past year, encouraging and advising them as they seek to shepherd the flock God has given them. We trust we were able to be a blessing to this small church, encouraging them to consider Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Please pray for several brothers and sisters in our church in Antofagasta who are making daily choices to follow Jesus and obey his Word. We desire to see them grow as disciples to be more like our Lord Jesus.

We appreciate your prayers for us as the coming month brings more opportunities for ministry. Lord willing, Mark is speaking at a weekend men’s retreat in Santiago (April 25–26) and then doing a one-day seminar on church leadership for a larger church in the south (April 30–May 1). As always, we are trusting God for safety in travel and daily strength to serve him. We want to trust God and find our refuge in him every day.
