“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily” (Col 1:28–29). In response to the twin heresies of Jewish asceticism and Greek sophistry, Paul proclaimed the person and work of Jesus Christ. As he transitions from “I” (Paul) and “you” (the Colossians) to “we” (every disciple of Jesus), he says this proclamational ministry is directed to “every man” (three times). We proclaim the person and work of Christ, warning and teaching everyone with biblical wisdom so that we might present everyone mature in Christ. This verse can be illustrated throughout the epistle as Paul “proclaims Christ,” “teaching and admonishing with all wisdom” (3:16).

We enjoyed a very encouraging missionary conference at the Church of the Open Bible in Burlington, Massachusetts this past month. We are thankful for God’s providential care and protection in travel and strength to minister. It was good to rekindle old friendships and meet new brothers and sisters, and we were encouraged by their generous kindness to us. We took advantage of the trip to spend some time with family in New Hampshire. Mark was also able to travel to Chicago for the funeral of a relative. In God’s providence, we both got sick and arrived safely home in Antofagasta exhausted. It took a few days to recover, but we’re thankful for God’s healing hand. We’re back to 100% now and have jumped back into ministry here in our church.

We ask for your prayers for us as we proclaim Christ here, teaching and warning, our goal as always to see every person grow in maturity in Christ. This is what we are working for day in and day out. We thank you for your partnership with us.

We enjoyed the fellowship of the Church of the Open Bible and the joy of sharing what God is doing in Antofagasta as Jesus builds his church here.
