We have a phrase at our church here in Antofagasta that we remind ourselves regularly as we open our services on the Lord’s Day: “One Sunday more, one Sunday fewer.” We want to remember to be grateful for the opportunity to gather once again in Jesus’ name on the Lord’s Day. At the same time, we want to remember that we are one week closer to the marriage supper of the Lamb, when the entire Body of Christ will be gathered together for the first time with her Head, never to be apart from Him again.
The weeks keep rolling along, one after the other. This past month we had the opportunity to host many church people in our home, as well as visit in several of their homes as well. These visits are always extended times of conversation, encouragement, and discipleship. Mark continued his Sunday series teaching through the book of Romans, one chapter a week. We’ve battled colds and coughs, even though the summer was unusually warm.
Last week, we got to visit the Flincks in Arica for five days. We traveled there and back on an overnight bus (the trip is 8–10 hours), trying to maximize our visit. We got to see a good bit of the city, to meet the families that make up the core group, and to worship with them on the Lord’s Day. It was exciting to see how God is calling together a group of believers there and we look forward to seeing what he will do with them in the future. We appreciate your prayers for us.
