“Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power” (Psalm 150:1).

The well-known conclusion to the inspired hymnbook of Israel, the Book of the Psalms, is the psalm of praise we know as Psalm 150. In a brief but passionate call, the psalmist invokes every creature to avail themselves of every means to praise God in every square inch of God’s universe. This psalm is not just a longing wish but a prophecy, because a Day is coming, foretold throughout the Old Testament, when from the central altar to the celestial expanses (v. 1), every single created being will praise God completely and genuinely. Any student of Old Testament history or current events can quickly affirm this has not yet taken place. However, a King is coming, bringing his kingdom with him, into which only the regenerate will enter, extending to every corner of the globe, and the King will finally receive his rightful honor and tribute from the sanctuary to the highest heaven. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt 6:10)!

Our church has been praising God from the plaza to our houses this month, with several visitors and new families joining us as we meet together on the Lord’s Day in a public park to read, sing, pray, and teach the Word of God. On Wednesdays, we are  meeting in three houses, led by elders. A different couple each week shares their testimonies of salvation. All three houses connect by Zoom to hear the testimonies, and then each has a time of Bible study and fellowship, singing, and prayer. The time of fellowship sometimes extends for a couple hours—even on school nights. Jesus said that love for each other would mark his disciples.

We look forward to praising God from Chile to the United States this coming month. Lord willing, we will arrive in the United States on April 26. We look forward to praising God for your partnership with us in the gospel (Phil 1:3–5), praising God as we “declare all that God has done with us” (Acts 14:27) over the past several years, and seeking to be a blessing in whatever way possible (Rom 1:11–12). We will be traveling many miles, so please pray for health and safety. You can see our furlough schedule on our website. Please continue to pray for the resolution of our permanent visas. We appreciate your prayers.

Our church celebrated the marriage of two of our own this past month, Natalia and Victor. We enjoyed the chance to get dressed up and share the moment with them.
